For the nature lovers to enjoy the peaceful landscape and indulge in pure, natural relaxation a visit to Mount Holomontas (44 km) is a must, which is covered with forests of oak trees, chestnut trees, pine trees, intercepted by clearings or fields with wild flowers and aromatic herbs.
Nearby is the impressive cave of Petralona (14 km) where they found a skull that belonged to prehistoric man about 700,000 years old and belongs to the oldest ever discovered European man
