The natural location of the peninsula is admirable. The Athonite monasteries feature a rich collection of well-preserved artifacts, rare books, ancient documents, and artworks of immense historical value, and Mount Athos has been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1988.
What to expect:
At 9:30 in the morning the trip begins by sailing from the coasts of Sithonia towards the south of the Athos peninsula. The first monastery that we will meet is the monastery of Saint Paul. Then we will continue sailing north, along the western coasts, admiring 8 more monasteries of significant and extraordinary beauty, till we reach the monastery borders, that separate Mount Athos from the outside world. Next stop will be the traditional village of Ouranopouli, where we will be able to relax taking a walk, coffee, food or exploring the sights like the great Agioritikos towel. Our stay there will be for approximately one hour and a half. Final but not least, we will take the boat and leave for Ormos Panagias port which is our final destination. Our arrival time at the port of Ormos Panagias is estimated at 17:30.

The cruise to Mount Athos departs from Ouranoupolis twice a day with the “Captain Fotis” boat of 300 seats. Daily from the 1st of April until the 31st of October at 10:30 and 14:00. Follow us for a unique visit to the monasteries of our region. First, we visit the woman’s monastery of Agios Ioannis Prodomos, located 2 km north of Metamorfosi Chalkidiki. The sanctuary was founded in 1977 and today it has about 50 nuns in its power. Then we visit the Holy Monastery of Saint Arsenios in Vatopedi, Chalkidiki. The monastery was founded in 1986 and currently numbers 18 monks. Lastly, we visit the women’s monastery of the Evangelismos Theotokou which is located in Ormylia Chalkidiki, in a green area of olive groves and vineyards. The monastery was founded in 1974 and is the largest female lady in Greece with about 120 nuns. Thousands of pilgrims visit the monastery every year and all are impressed by the organization and the beauty of the place.

Thessaloniki is the second biggest city of Greece located in Central Macedonia. It is often called the "bride of the north", since it is the capital of northern Greece and a very beautiful city. The city of Thessaloniki was founded in 315 BC by Cassander of Macedon.It is home to numerous notable monuments, historic buildings and squares, churches. What to expect :
Our day trip to Thessaloniki will begin around 8:00 in the morning. Our first stop will be ‘Ano Poli’ the acropolis of Thessaloniki, which is the highest point of the city. In there you will be able to admire the Byzantine fort, the Heptapyrgion and a large portion of the city's remaining walls. The panoramic view of the city is the perfect start for our trip. Our next stop will be in the promenade of the city, down-town at the White Tower, the symbol of the city and museum. Previously it was called “Bloody tower” because it was a place of mass executions and prison. When Thessaloniki was annexed from the Ottoman Empire the tower was whitewashed as a symbolic gesture of cleansing and acquired its present name. Right next to the White Tower we will have the chance to see two more monuments: Fillips B’ and Alexander’s the Great, on his horse, while enjoying our walk by the sea. The temple of Saint Demetrius (Agios Dimitrios) will be our next stop. Saint Demetrius is the patron of the city. In the temple are kept the remains of Saint Demetrius, which after the tour inside it we will have the chance to worship. In our spare time you will be able to walk along the city, explore it yourself, go shopping and buy souvenirs from its big marketplace. Estimated arrival time back to the hotel will be around 18:00.

Overview:
Meteora is a must-see place in Greece, as it is a unique geological phenomenon, located in central Greece, next to the city of Kalambaka. The huge natural rock towers found there are home to 14th-century cliff top monasteries built by Eastern Orthodox hermit monks who settled in the area in the ninth century and began living in the caves and fissures of the rocks. Meteora is one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Greece, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today remain six monasteries out of the twenty built in the rocks of 400 and 600 meters high. Meteora, which literally means in Greek "middle of the sky" or "in the heavens above", with its breathtaking landscape and its religious atmosphere will give you the change to witness the ascetic life.

Our day trip to Meteora begins really early in the morning. The estimated departure time is 06:30 depending on the pick-up place. On our way to Meteora we will make two stops, one for breakfast and one more in the hagiography workshop, where we will be able to attend the process of hagiography on religious icons. Mount Athos is a special place, halfway between Heaven and Earth. Over the past 1,300 years, Athos has taken a special position among other countries: the way of life here is not subject to worldly laws. Holy Mountain is under the jurisdiction of the Patriarch of Constantinople, and is part of the Greek state, where the state language is Greek. Today on Mount Athos there are 20 functioning monasteries, which have the status of patriarchal stauropegic (17 Greek, 1 - Russian, 1 - Bulgarian and 1 - Serbian). In addition to the monasteries on the Holy Mountain, there are 12 monasteries, cells, kathismes, and hesychastyria. Totally, about 1,500 monks live on Mount Athos, including the Kelliots and the Scythian inhabitants. Only men can be pilgrims to Athos. The trip to Athos includes visits to five monasteries. From Ouranopolis pilgrims go to Daphne, from where they move to the capital of the monastic state of Karyes, where the main shrine of Athos is located - the icon "Worthy Is" and the oldest temple of the 9th century "Protat". Then we visit the monastery of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, one of the closest disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, built by Russian monks and benefactors. The next stop is in the Vatopedi monastery, where 7 wonder-working icons are stored, among which is the All-Crescent, which heals from cancer. Here is also the favorite icon of St. Dmitry Rostov "Otrada and Consolation". The main relics of this monastery are the belt of the Most Holy Theotokos. Our last visit will be the Russian Holy Panteleimon monastery, where the head of the Great Martyr Healer Panteleimon resides.
