There is no airport in Halkidiki. The closest airport is located in Thessaloniki, the second largest town in the country and a transportation hub for northern Greece. The International Airport "MACEDONIA" of Thessaloniki (IATA code: SKG) which is the airport that serves Halkidiki, connects the region with approximately 31 countries and 81 destinations with direct flights, as well as 35 cities and islands in Greece (direct flights and transit).

The airport of Thessaloniki receives daily flights from Athens and the flight time is 50 min. It also operates flights from other Greek airports, such as Corfu, Chios, and Lesvos. In addition, the airport of Thessaloniki receives charter and low-cost flights from various European airports. In fact, the popular low-cost companies Easy Jet and Ryan Air fly frequently to Thessaloniki from Europe.

The airport of Thessaloniki is located on the eastern side of the town and on the northern side of Halkidiki, in the region of Thermi. Many car rental companies have their base at the airport to serve visitors. Also, the Bus Station to Halkidiki is located close to the airport.
