Travel around the most beautiful parts of Greece with this 8 days/7 nights tour that will give you a glance of the national treasures of this country: Arnaia, Ouranopolis, Mount Athos cruise, Philippi, Vergina, Veroia, Dion, Mount Olympus, Meteora, Ioannina, Dodoni-all these places will take your breath away. Program

Day 1-Sunday: Arrival in Thessaloniki
Arrive in Thessaloniki and check in to the 4* hotel.

Day 2-Monday: Thessaloniki City Tour-Arnaia-Ouranoupoli
Breakfast and check-out. The day starts with a panoramic tour of the city passing through the main sights i.e. the picturesque old town, the Byzantine church of Agios Dimitrios, the Arch of Galerius, the Rotunda monument & the emblematic church of Agia Sophia, the White Tower symbol of the city and the statue of Alexander the Great and ends up at the archaeological museum. Continue to Halkidiki and Agios Prodromos for a lunch stop and then to the traditional village of Arnaia. End up at Ouranopoli for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Tuesday: Mount Athos Cruise-Amphipolis-Kavala
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the port of Ouranopolis to embark for a half-day cruise of Mount Athos where you can admire in close distance (from the boat), the mysterious and miraculous place which has been for centuries the center of Orthodoxy and you will find out new information about the history of the Mount Athos and its monasteries. After the cruise, we will have lunch in the village of Ouranopoli and then we depart for the Ancient town of Amphipolis and the city of Kavala for sightseeing, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4 - Wednesday: Philippi-Vergina-Veroia
In the morning departure for Philippi which founded in 356 BC. During the reign of Philip II of Macedonia, the remains of this fortified city lie at the foot of an acropolis located in the present Greek region of East Macedonia and Thrace, through which the ancient Roman road Egnatia that linked Europe with Asia passed. After the visit of the Apostle Saint Paul to Philippi in the years 49 to 50 of our common era, the city became a center for the spread of Christianity. Later transfer to Vergina, the ancient capital city of Macedonia. Continue with the guided tour of the impressing museum containing, among others, the Royal Tomb of King Philip the II, father of Alexander the Great. Then transfer to Veroia a city with 2500 years of history and one of the most important after Constantinople and Thessaloniki during the Byzantine Empire. In the afternoon check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5 - Thursday: Dion-Mount Olympus-Kalampaka
After breakfast transfer to Dion for today’s tour. Dion was ancient Macedonia’s holy city, located on the foot of Mount Olympus, home of the 12 Gods of mythology. It was the city with the most sacrifices to the Olympian Gods. After the tour transfer to Litochoro village where there will be free time for lunch or a short walk to the mountain. In the afternoon departure to Kalambaka. Arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner & overnight.

Day 6-Friday: Meteora-Metsovo-Ioannina City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to one of the highlights in Greece the impressive Meteora, the Byzantine monasteries which are “hanging” on the top of gigantic rocks. Kalambaka has also a long tradition in the production of handmade, wood-carved objects, and religious icons that are painted by domestic artists. After the tour visit of Metsovo, a traditional village in the Mountain Range
of Pindos. Later, departure to Ioannina, we will discover the city passing through the main sights: the castle, the island of “Kira Frossini”, the Museum of Ali Pasha and the silversmith’s museum check-in at the hotel, dinner & overnight.

Day 7 - Saturday: Dodoni-Pella-Thessaloniki
Breakfast and check out, today’s tour starts with the visit to the Ancient Theatre of Dodoni one of the largest and best-preserved ancient Greek theaters. It was constructed in the 3rd century B.C. by King Pyrros of Epirus (297-272 B.C. Further on we drive to Pella the Macedonian state capital, and the glorious kingdom of ancient Macedonia, where Alexander the Great was born. A palatial complex that covers an area of 60000 m2, and agora a commercial and manufacturing center which was in fact the biggest agora of the ancient world. Late in the afternoon, we take our way back to Thessaloniki. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8-Sunday: Departure
Pick up from hotel and departure from the airport according to the flight information
